Triathlete Award
The new Triathlete Award is a performance award and will recognize dogs who excel in multiple venues. The Triathlete Award is an “Olympic style” medal on a tartan neck ribbon. The year designation is optional and may be added at the winner’s discretion.
The qualifying categories parallel those established for our Versatile Dog Awards. The new Triathlete Award will be offered only at our National Specialty beginning this fall, 2026.
This award will not be offered at the Roving Specialty as there may not be a sufficient number of Companion and Performance events offered.
The process to calculate winners is much less complex and awards will be distributed as they are earned.
Purpose: To promote excellence and versatility in Companion and Performance events at the National Specialty
Criteria to achieve award:
One qualifying score in three of the following four sports categories at the WHWTCA National Specialty in October:
- Tracking or Scent Work (Wednesday trial only)
- Obedience or Rally (WHWTCA trial only)
- Agility (WHWTCA designated day only)
- Earthdog (either test)
Members will self-report each accomplishment via an Application form and submitted to Deb Jackson or Shelley Marvin either in-person at the Specialty or via email at dobegirl@comcast.net or shelleymarvin@yahoo.com.
