Performance Westies

What is Performance?

Speaking in broad terms, "performance" covers the many formally recognized dog sports and excludes conformation. The AKC recognizes many sports including some for which our Westies are eligible.

History in the WHWTCA

The WHWTCA is an "AKC" Club. Therefore, for the most part, "performance" addresses only the AKC-sanctioned sports for which Westies are eligible to compete. (An exception is the AWTA earthdog program which preceded the AKC program.) These sports are listed below. The WHWTCA's awards programs cover these sports. Agility and Obedience have specific annual awards. Titles in the other sports garner points towards the Versatile Dog Award Program.
